    GOOD NEWS

    • At a recent virtual Zoom meeting, we discussed the next step in our journey towards setting up the new group of 3 churches. Our Transitions Officer, and our new Rural Dean of Powder Deanery were introduced.  At the PCC meeting of 30th June Paul, Janet, Ian and Sian were appointed as our representives on the newly formed Group of 3  Transitions Group.  (We really must find a name for the new group. How about the Carnon Valley Benefice?)
    • Sunday morning services are happening online via Zoom at 9.30 each week. JUST CLICK ON https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6176688780

CORONAVIRUS - THE BEGINNINGS OF A RETURN

    • At the PCC meeting held on Tuesday 30th June, it was decided that we shall open the church for worship on Sundays at 11.00 am July 5th.
    • It won't be the service that we are all used to, but it is a significant first step.
    • The services will be said services to begin with, until we receive further guidance.
    • The Wardens have set the church up in accordance with Covid guidelines. Hand gel will be used on entry and exit and a one way system is marked on the floor. You will be guided to designated pews and appropriate distancing is marked on the floor as well.
    • Same household couples may sit together, as may those who have formed a bubble.
    • The toilets will not be available.
    • OUR CHURCH WILL ALSO BE OPEN FOR PRIVATE PRAYER ON WEDNESDAYS FROM 1ST JULY, BETWEEN 10.00 AM AND 11.00 AM. THE CHURCH HALL, INCLUDING THE TOILETS, WILL NOT BE IN USE.
    • PRIVATE PRAYER IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A PERSON OR HOUSEHOLD TO ENTER THE CHURCH TO PRAY ON THEIR OWN AND NOT AS PART OF A GROUP, LED OR COMMUNAL ACT.
    • THE WARDENS HAVE SET THE CHURCH IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GUIDELINES AND WILL BE THERE TO OVERSEE THE ARRANGEMENTS.
    • HAND SANITIZER IS IN PLACE AND MUST BE USED ON ENTRY, WHICH WILL BE VIA THE MAIN DOOR. YOU WILL THEN  BE ASKED TO FOLLOW THE ARROWS ON THE FLOOR AND DIRECTED TO YOUR PEW. WE HAVE TAPED OFF SOME PEWS TO ENSURE COVID SAFE DISTANCING. SAME HOUSEHOLD COUPLES MAY SIT TOGETHER, AS MAY THOSE WHO HAVE FORMED A BUBBLE. EVERYBODY ELSE WILL BE SAT 1 PER PEW AS DIRECTED. EXIT WILL BE VIA THE BELL TOWER, WITH HAND GEL USED AS YOU LEAVE.
    • SADLY, WE WON'T BE ABLE TO HAVE COFFEE AND A GOOD CHAT. PLEASE DO NOT BRING FLASKS!! ................
    • MEANWHILE
    • PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CHURCH OR THE CHURCH HALL AT OTHER TIMES, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF YOUR WARDENS.. WE ARE CHECKING BOTH EACH WEEK, AND ENSURING THE WATER IN THE HALL IS RUN AND THE LOOS FLUSHED. WE ARE ALSO CHECKING ELECTRICITY SAFETY AND LOOKING AFTER THE ORGAN WITH JULIET. IF ANYBODY ELSE GOES IN EITHER BUILDING YOU COULD UNINTENTIONALLY TAKE THE VIRUS IN. YOU DON'T NEED TO TOUCH ANYTHING TO MAKE IT A DANGER. DROPLETS FROM COUGHS AND SNEEZES CAN SETTLE AND REMAIN ON SURFACES FOR A LONG TIME. PLEASE HELP BY MAKING SURE THE WARDENS ARE SAFE WHEN THEY GO INTO THESE BUILDINGS. WE ARE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE ON THESE MATTERS AND, APART FROM THE VIRUS DANGER ITSELF, OUR INSURANCE MAY WELL DEPEND ON MAKING SURE WE CONTINUE TO DO SO. IF YOU ARE PART OF THE WORKING PARTY, PLEASE BRING A FLASK AND MUG SO THAT YOU DON'T USE THE KITCHEN OR ENTER THE CHURCH. IF YOU NEED TO USE THE TOILET, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU THOROUGHLY WIPE DOWN ANY SURFACE YOU MAY HAVE TOUCHED, DOOR HANDLES AND LOCKS.
    • Graveyards and churchyards are open for people to tend to graves and spend time with their loved ones. Please note that the guidance about social distancing MUST be obeyed.
